Breakfast Speaker overview: Author Juliet Wills
We enjoyed a fantastic presentation by Sydney born author, Juliet Wills on Thursday 1 August. Juliet has lived and worked throughout Australia, is a mum of three and lives in Perth, working in real estate.

Juliet has been awarded for her Excellence in Television Journalism, written for major newspapers, and lectured in broadcast journalism at two universities.

Juliet's first book, The Diamond Dakota, was published by Allen and Unwin in 2006.

Juliet presented on her new book Dirty Girl which covers the state sanctioned murder of brothel madam Shirley Finn.

Juliet gave an overview of the Finn murder and a little background on Shirley Finn. She then went through the cover up, the battle against corruption and the complexity of the crime and evidence. Juliet also provided insight into the significance of the Finn murder on WA & justice.

An update from our last breakfast meeting

President reminded the Club about importance of membership and how it's he whole club needs to work together and take responsibility to try to grow the club. So remember, if you have any friends who may like to join us, bring them along.

Nigel encouraged the Club to think about how we could find ways to collaborate with the other charitable organisations using the Leederville Sporting Club  as a key venue. This could be a great opportunity to raise funds and to promote our Rotary club and what we do. So put your thinking caps on and get back to Nigel with any ideas.

Ian Hutton gave an insightful talk about his recent Hamburg Trip to the Rotary Conference. In particular he noted the importance of fellowship the value of meeting other Clubs from around the world to understand and learn their way of doing things.
SwapMart update
A big thanks to Elizabeth from bringing along a donation for the SwapMart at the last breakfast meeting. And to Jill for the books and John Holman for the DVDs.
