Royal Flying Doctor Day - That's a wrap and upwards of $50,000 with our help!
So excited to share the news that Royal Flying Doctors Day was a huge success.
For their street appeal and awareness day on Friday 14th May, were able to provide a dozen helpers which bolstered their resources significantly and for which we have received thanks and expressions of appreciation.
Our fundraising started on the 1st may and together with the Club Trust contribution of $15,000, this has been supplemented by $10,697.50 (and counting) from our Members, other Rotary clubs, Rotarians and the community.
This has facilitated a contribution of in excess of $50,000 to the RFDS Flying Doctor Day Appeal which will provide for additional equipment and the development of a Training Centre of Excellence.
We have also demonstrated to the Rotary community that the Rotary Club of West Perth means action.”
A strong and supportive relationship has been created between RCWP and RFDS. We will now work to develop future events to reinforce the relationship building on the strong foundations that have been established. The 2021 Flying Doctor Day was the first of its kind and is mooted to become an Annual event.
Regards,
Geoffrey Hick and Peter Blockley
